Good question. I'm not sure if this is covered under state law or federal law. I've heard G.G. Liddy has firearms in his house but they're all in his wife's name.
Also, there's an exemption in the law against a felon in possession of a firearm in case of grave and imminent danger to life. A convicted felon is allowed under the law to take up a firearm to defend himself or another person. But he may possess the firearms only as long as the threat exists. I didn't know that until I served on a jury a few years ago when it was part of the jury instructions. Again, I don't know if that's federal or state law. |

woulndt the felon have to actuly have physicial possesion in the case of them being someone elses guns in the house he lived in. |

As long as the weapons were secured in a manner reasonable to deny access everything should be ok. Best place for advise would be the local prosecutor as to state and local laws on the matter. sgb |

No special measrures must be taken as far a safe guarding,,do you think Mrs. Liddy's vaste collection is kept under lock and key? NOT she still has her "right" I'm surprised he did not act on getting his "rights" restored,,then again If he has multiple felony convictions might not be able to,,anyway,,yes a felon can grab a firearm on hand to protect,,and use deadly physical force the the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on this,,,then again if and this dependended on the nature of the conviction(s) I might be inclinded to keep them under lock and key,,or mor. Rest easy you can use your spouses etc. firearm to protect just make sure they won't crumble under questioning by our well meaning LEO's though sometimes coniving lying bastards,,remember anything you say can and will be used against you,,don't trust nobody! Never trust a cop etc. look just tell us the truth we won't hurt you,,B.S. the old days are gone,,Ilived them and saw the change..

Thanks for the input guys, but I need concrete information with sources. For right now, considering he is just getting out of the military and will be living in his father's house he's decided to play it safe and not keep them there.
