Today I got to shoot a friends AR-15, and.....I want one. Since I live in CA, and can barely own a BB gun, is it possible for me to legally purchase an AR-15? Is there a certain type I can still buy? I tried making since of CA's moronic gun laws but came out more confused than when I started. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

(Yes I know this has probably been asked before, but I'm asking it again anyway. :)

DPMS makes a CA friendly AR that holds ONE round and cannot take a mag.

Although the PRK Supreme Court made a decision affecting this, and theoretically you *might* find an AR lower not listed by name in the ban, and buy it with the pistol grip cut off, and be legal.  But I kind of doubt it.

For sure, you are no longer able to buy pistol-gripped ARs in the PRK.
