Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Fixed Stock Question

I asked this on AK forums.  Is it legal to remove a fixed stock from AMD 65?  Some people say that the overall length must be 26 inches for a rifle.  So if I removed it, then it still would be legal.  However, some say that it would become AOW.  So which one is true?
