Is the "Instant Background Check still required when purchasing a firearm or did that go away with the ban?

If it went away, does it revert to state requirements?

Those are two completely different laws. The background check is still in effect.

Which Law covers the back ground check? I was under the impression it was all part of the AWB. Is it a law unto itself or is it part of another piece of legislation.

The Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act (Brady Act) of 1993 is the legislation that introduced the NICS system.
