I’ve asked some of these dealers and none can give a legitimate answer other than the ATF prohibits civilian sales. One fella even said the disconnectors and sights are the only difference, but possession of either are prohibited by civilians.

If youre talking about the FN, thats civilian legal. Otherwise its a points issue or a dealer with his head up his ass.

Yup, certain models of the FN don't make the minimum points and thus are LEO/Military only.

Goes back to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
