Is it legal to modify safety to reduce its "swing"
Specifically an AR safety , 45 degrees arc insted of a 90 degree arc.
Would it require technical review, or would it legal for a home builder to do by themselves.

I don't see how it could be illegal.

I agree, don't think it's illegal. However, keep in mind that modified guns can get you hung in court should it ever be used for self-defense. With that said, have at it, I say.

Thanks for the fast response guys!
I was thinking of HK style bullet markings on a cavarms lower.
The safety would have a third detent hole between safe and semi,
and the trigger stop on the safety would be modified to clear at 45 degrees.
I think BATFE regs back up what you guys say. I have no problem doing it myself , but I'm leaning
towards cfors concerns and might get something in wrighting from Tech. Branch.
Thank you again.
