Another ban in CA has this gone through or is it just proposed at the moment? If this goes through do we have to register those too? I thought we just had a 50 ban and if got shot down last year what the hell is up with this stupid state?

It's in the Senate.  Passed the house.  AB 50 if you want the bill number.
I can tell you exactly what is wrong with this State -- People are not politically active; however, you are not too late. Call and write your Senators and the Senators on whichever committee it gets assigned to expressing your opposition to this bill.  While you're at it, it couldn't hurt to write/call the Governor and remind him about telling the Congress to quit sending him gun laws.

Don't just think about doing the above.  Take 10 minutes and actually do it.

Sure, let your representatives know your feelings on the ban.  What is really going to get the California Democrat's attention, however,  is recalling their head man, Governor Gray Davis.  He's the guy who signed the AW ban into law and the recent law requiring a license to purchase a handgun.  He will sign the .50 cal. ban when it comes across his desk and he will sign every other anti-gun piece of legislation that he receives.

California voters, download a copy of the Recall Gray Davis petition.  Collect as many signatures as you can.  Mail it back as soon as possible and then vote him out of office.
