Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - M16 Mag in AR15

I just recieved a 20 round Unversal Industries mag that is markied M16/M16A1 5.56 cal. Is it legal to be used in a AR15? This maybe a stupid question but i like to cover my a**.

As far as federal law is concered no problem, check local laws just to be shure.(shouldn't be any problem but you never know)

Thanks, i thought it would be legal. I just recieved it from a guy on ebay (here come the flames) who listed it as a blocked 5 round whitch i was looking for to possibly hunt with. Got it for $9.00 shipped. and it's a 20 rounder.
