Yes it's legal. California DOJ considers the 8-round en bloc clip to be a fixed magazine, and by definition an assault weapon has a detachable magazine [i]or[/i] a fixed magazine of over ten rounds.

Ok thanks, I guess I'll get one for my M1 then.
Another question, are vortex flashiders legal in CA? I was looking at one for the M1 yesterday, and they said on the website that they were not available for civilians in CA. |

That doesn't surprise me. I've seen alot of sellers who assume things are illegal in California that really aren't. Some people won't sell [i]anything[/i] to a California resident, period. Take your business elsewhere. Somebody will want your money.
