The how much ammo do you have has been asked a billion times.  Here is a new one for reloaders.

I just got 100 pounds (2 ammo cans) of .30 AP and 55gr .223.  How much stuff do you have on hand.  Powder, primers, bullets, etc.  FYI, I'm a newbie at reloading and only have a rock chucker so I don't have much yet.

Bullets
M2 .30 AP rounds ~ 3,900
M193 .223 55gr ~ 3,000
M196 .223 Tracers ~ 1,000
.45 230gr FMJ ~ 100 (need lots more)
9mm 115 FMJ and HP ~ 1,300

Primers
CCI small pistol ~ 2000
CCI large pistol ~ 2000
CCI small rifle  ~ 2000
CCI large rifle  ~ 2000

Powder
Surplus 4895 ~ Little less than 16 pounds
Unique ~ 3 pounds
Winchester 748 ~ 1 pound
Hodgen BL2 ~ 1 pound
Hi Score 700x ~ 8 oz

I'm just about completely out of supplies. I've got a bunch of ammo laying around though [:)]

I don't really have enough room where I'm living right now, but as soon as I get moved in to the new house I'm gonna start up "production" again.

.32acp 71gr. FMJ ~ 2000
9mm 115gr. fmj ~ 4000
45acp 230gr. FMJ ~ 6000
.223 55gr. FMJ ~ 10,000
.30cal  150fr. FMJ ~ 1,500
.30cal 165gr. AP ~ 500
.30cal match 168gr. ~ 600
.38/357 wad cutter/ 125grain SJHP ~ 1000
.303 174gr. SP ~ 600
8mm 185gr. SP ~ 500
6.5mm 140gr Match/SP 500

About 2,500 various primers.
About 30 pounds of various powder.
What can I say, I work for a dealer and get it cheap.  It adds up fast over the years like the ammo does when you are always selling it instead of going out and having fun with it. (sigh)

Two cases of LP primers and a couple cartons of small rifle.
One 8 lb jug of Clays, for bullseye pistol shooting & seven or eight different one pounders of pistol & rifle powder.

Well over 5000 .45ACP, 2500 .223 a couple hundred .44 mag & .44 specials.  A few cans of .38 sp that are collecting dust.  Maybe 500 .30-'06 for the Garand.
9mm are swept up & tossed.  Reloading those costs as as much as buying new ones.

2000 .45 bullets, maybe 800 .223, a couple hundred .44s & some .38s somewhere.

Who knows what's hiding in various drawers & closets.

Primers - 1,000 to 2,000 of each type (SP, LP, SR)
Bullets - 200 to 2,000 of each caliber.

Powder - 1 to 4 lbs. of each type.  Usually 5 or 6 types on-hand.

This thread reminds me...I have to get started replenishing loaded ammo for the spring shooting season.

thebeekeeper1, where are the photos?  We need photos of your setup!  [:D]

I've downloaded the NRA reloading table plans.  Going to buy the lumber and hardware tonight.  My little wobbly reloading bench is going out
to the farm.  Time for a bigger stronger bench.

Hey, I went out and built my own reloading bench as well. The Craftsman workbench I had been using was too big for the duplex I moved in to so I decided I was going to build my own. I had no plans or measurements and went to Lowe's and got about $60 worth of lumber.

I designed it as I went and it turned out great! Very nice and sturdy as hell. There was only one problem with it. When I was finished it was just as damn big as the bench I was using it to replace and it still wouldn't fit where I wanted to put it. Oh, well, it's still a damn good bench. [:)]

try out sears for a bench. I got a craftsman all metal table with metal covered able top for under 125.00. It's plenty big for a single press setup. Also has lots of drawers and cabinet space to store your powder and supplies.

Yep, that sounds similar to the one I was using, except mine had a wood top. I think I got it on sale for about $110-115 or so.

I'd be kind of leary of using something with a metal top though. All it would take is one little spark to ruin your day. [BD]

I use a bench plan from Home Depot. Works for me. Use some good hardwood for the bench top, and avoid the crappy pine that comes in the kits. It doesn't stand up to the press stresses very well.
On hand:
1k each of LP,LPM,LR,LRM,SPM,209primers, #11 percussion caps
2k of SR,SP
2k .45 230grLRN,
500ea of .357 158gr JHP,125gr JHP,158gr FMJ, .44LSWC 240gr,230gr JHP
1k .357 LSWC
6-700 assorted 30cal bullets in the 150-168gr range
500-1000 .223 bullets of assorted bulk packs ranging from 60-69gr.
(When you can't shoot 55gr in your AR, you shoot a LOT less)
400 assorted 7mm bullets from 140-160gr
75lbs of assorted lead shot
300+ .50cal Maxiballs (hand cast)200+ roundball
Powder:
2# Green Dot,Win296,Pyrodex
1# each of: Clays, Titegroup,Blue Dot, AA2460,AA2520,IMR4320,AA#9,GoexFF,GoexFFF.
5-6# of WC846
A few thousand wads and hulls, probably 10k+ in assorted brass.
I'm a bit of a piker. I reload on a single stage for everything. [:)]

Events of ten years ago taught me that primers are the first thing to become unavailable.  Never again.  Watch-Six

Here are two reloading benches I built. First one is a set of metal legs with a plywood top. The second one I built from plans on the Sears web page.

Bench #1 - Left view - MEC 9000 shotshell reloader, 12 guage. I drilled a hole thru the bench under the reloader so the spent primers drop into a can under the top.

Bench#1 - Right view - Dillon SDB progressive pistol reloader. I reload all my pistol ammo on this, except the 50AE, which I have to load on the 550.

Bench #1 - lower view - "Small" Dillon case cleaner and separator. The large Rubbermaid containers on the left are full of shotgun hulls ready to be reloaded. I like shotguns [:P]

Shelfs I built out of 2x3 and 3/4 plywood. These are strong enough to hold loaded ammo.

Bench #2 - Rifle country - RCBS RockChucker (left) and Dillon 550B (right). I still need to build some shelfs on the wall behind this bench.

What happend 10 years ago with primers?  Prices go up, no supply etc?  I don't remember what happened?  Gulf War?

FYI.  Just got back from Home Depot. 160 dollars for lumber and supplies for a new reloading table.  I downloaded the NRA? plans for the table.  3/4" plywood etc.  Wow, heavy and expensive.  Gonna be a bitch to cut and build but it should last a lifetime.  I'll take some photos during the build.  Should take awhile though.
