The how much ammo do you have has been asked a billion times.  Here is a new one for reloaders.

I just got 100 pounds (2 ammo cans) of .30 AP and 55gr .223.  How much stuff do you have on hand.  Powder, primers, bullets, etc.  FYI, I'm a newbie at reloading and only have a rock chucker so I don't have much yet.

What can I say, I work for a dealer and get it cheap.  It adds up fast over the years like the ammo does when you are always selling it instead of going out and having fun with it. (sigh)

Two cases of LP primers and a couple cartons of small rifle.  
One 8 lb jug of Clays, for bullseye pistol shooting & seven or eight different one pounders of pistol & rifle powder.

Well over 5000 .45ACP, 2500 .223 a couple hundred .44 mag & .44 specials.  A few cans of .38 sp that are collecting dust.  Maybe 500 .30-'06 for the Garand.
9mm are swept up & tossed.  Reloading those costs as as much as buying new ones.

2000 .45 bullets, maybe 800 .223, a couple hundred .44s & some .38s somewhere.

Who knows what's hiding in various drawers & closets.

Primers - 1,000 to 2,000 of each type (SP, LP, SR)
Bullets - 200 to 2,000 of each caliber.

Powder - 1 to 4 lbs. of each type.  Usually 5 or 6 types on-hand.

This thread reminds me...I have to get started replenishing loaded ammo for the spring shooting season.

I've downloaded the NRA reloading table plans.  Going to buy the lumber and hardware tonight.  My little wobbly reloading bench is going out
to the farm.  Time for a bigger stronger bench.

Hey, I went out and built my own reloading bench as well. The Craftsman workbench I had been using was too big for the duplex I moved in to so I decided I was going to build my own. I had no plans or measurements and went to Lowe's and got about $60 worth of lumber.

I designed it as I went and it turned out great! Very nice and sturdy as hell. There was only one problem with it. When I was finished it was just as damn big as the bench I was using it to replace and it still wouldn't fit where I wanted to put it. Oh, well, it's still a damn good bench. [:)]

Yep, that sounds similar to the one I was using, except mine had a wood top. I think I got it on sale for about $110-115 or so.

I'd be kind of leary of using something with a metal top though. All it would take is one little spark to ruin your day. [BD]

I use a bench plan from Home Depot. Works for me. Use some good hardwood for the bench top, and avoid the crappy pine that comes in the kits. It doesn't stand up to the press stresses very well.

A few thousand wads and hulls, probably 10k+ in assorted brass.

Events of ten years ago taught me that primers are the first thing to become unavailable.  Never again.  Watch-Six

Here are two reloading benches I built. First one is a set of metal legs with a plywood top. The second one I built from plans on the Sears web page.

Bench #1 - Left view - MEC 9000 shotshell reloader, 12 guage. I drilled a hole thru the bench under the reloader so the spent primers drop into a can under the top.

Bench#1 - Right view - Dillon SDB progressive pistol reloader. I reload all my pistol ammo on this, except the 50AE, which I have to load on the 550.

What happend 10 years ago with primers?  Prices go up, no supply etc?  I don't remember what happened?  Gulf War?

FYI.  Just got back from Home Depot. 160 dollars for lumber and supplies for a new reloading table.  I downloaded the NRA? plans for the table.  3/4" plywood etc.  Wow, heavy and expensive.  Gonna be a bitch to cut and build but it should last a lifetime.  I'll take some photos during the build.  Should take awhile though.
