Yup, got time for a quick story of Old Chevy Vs. New Chevy?

Sure you do...

If you went to the WTT/WTS forum, you saw these pics, plus one with the big dog for gunrunner.  Behind the 'dog' is my 1943 Farmall H.  

Several months ago, I got the Farmall stuck.  Bad idea to get a 6500lb tractor stuck, on an incline, so gas would not feed into carb.  DEAD WEIGHT...

So, I went to get my 1995 2500 Chevy.  Figured that would be quicker to remove the tractor from the mud, than finding a fresh battery, putting gas in the old truck.

I hitched up the 1995 truck to the tractor, gave it a tug... nada, zilch, nothing.

I went to the other end of the tractor, to pull it the opposite direction,, nothing, nada, zilch,,,maybe 2 inches is all the tractor would move.

So then I got mad, tires spinning, tractor still stuck.

I then decided to go get the old black truck.  Put a fresh battery on it, added gas, hooked up to the tractor.

It pulled it like it wasn't even attached!  Never even had to give it more than 1/4 of a pedal of gas (barely touched the gas)

Got the tractor level.  Fired it up, and walked it right out of the mud with that 1954 pulling on its nose.  Hauled that old tractor out of the mud like leading a puppy to its momma.

I could almost hear the old truck laughing at that shiny silverado.  "Here's how ya do it, whipper snapper!"

When I get my JD stuck, I have to borrow the neighbor's tractor. My Suburban is a 3/4 ton w/410 gears, and I wouldn't try to unstuck the JD with IT. Suburban is an excellent towing vehicle, though. Here's my utility tractor:
