i agree, but you must bear in mind that there are people here who think fdr knowingly sacrificed pearl harbor in 1941.

uh, Lurker, there is vast evidence that upper level gov. people (FDR) knew that Pearl would be attacked.

Of course, they didden't know how bad it would be.

Churchill knew about the attack on Coventry to,
and about the locations of German U-boats, but diddn't want to let the Germans know that they had broken the code.

These decisions are very different than blowing up ones own buildings.  You are comparing apples to oranges.
