We just bought a house with some land and I would like to get a Shepherd, I am currently looking into Dutch Shepherds but don't know much about them. I did grow up with German Shepherds so I have some experience with the breed.
How big do they get compared to German Sheps? Do they shed less or more than Germans? Typically do they get along with other dogs? We currently have a mini dachshund. Anything else you can think of that I would need to know? Thank you!

I have a Dutchie. I currently work a Dutch Shepherd as a patrol / narcotics dog for a large Midwestern department. The dutchie is an awesome dog. Very high drive dog. Tons of energy. They are like a Belgian malenois with an off switch. When at work, he does nothing but spin in the kennel. While working a track or area search, he doesn't quit and would probably stroke out before he gave up. And they bite. So use caution in selecting one. But I would not trade him for any other type of dog around. I will probably have a dutchie for the rest of my life. I truly love the breed.
