From the .50bmg list:

SB1405

Tomorrow, Tuesday 3/20, the Connecticut state legislature will begin hearings on legislation that will ban outright or
require the registration of .50 caliber rifles.  Currently, the vote is too close to call.

CT residents should attend the hearing of the Public Service committee if they don't want to hand over thousands of dollars
worth of equipment.  Those who live outside of CT may want to make their views known also.  (Ban/registration means no
competitions in CT.  That means competitors will have to go to other states to compete, taking their tourist dollars with them.)

You can e-mail the governor to let him know how this will impact you:

[email protected]

His snail-mail address is:

Gov. John G. Rowland
c/o  Governor's Office
State Capitol
210 Capitol Avenue
Hartford, CT 06106

You can e-mail the legislators on the commitee by going to this link:

(There's not enough time to send snail mail to the committee.)
