A Palestinian gunman takes position to fire at in the West Bank city of Beit Jala during a heavy exchange of fire between Palestinian gunmen and Israeli troops February 28, 2002. Israeli forces shot their way into two Palestinian refugee camps in the West Bank, killing at least 10 people in an upsurge of violence that cast a deep shadow over a new Middle East peace initiative. From dead IDF members, kidnapped IDF members, dead settlers, dead policemen, and from various other sources.

BTW, Palestinian supporters, that's not a poster of Che Guevara on the wall behind this rodent, is it?

Shows you where these people's hearts are - far from US!

Commie/Socialist bastids!

We send all sorts of aid to all sorts of places. They have no doubt been bought and paid for by our tax dollars. Should we feel better seeing a 3rd world rag head using a good old made in the USA Colt as opposed to a Kalashnikov?

My state senator, the Honorable John McCain, says these guys get their M16s from gun shows here in the states. I know that a former POW wouldn't lie, so he must be telling the truth.

They probably buy them on the international arms market.

Simple fact, the victors of many wars take the captured weapons and sell them through dealers like Interarms. With enough monetary support and the right smuggling connections an insurgent army can get almost anything.

In the 1980's, the rebels in El Salvador were fighting with M16A1's captured by the Viet Cong in Souteast Asia and funneled into El Salvador through Nicuragua by the Soviets.

Logistically it made sense because the El Salvadoran government was supported by the Pentagon. If the rebels needed ammo, they could just go raid a government garrison.

The Palestinians are probably getting their arms from a sympathetic muslim support network. Libya, Syria, Iran, etc., etc..

Is there any truth to the rumor that they had minors with felony records buy them through the gun show loop hole on the interent?

That's what Chucky Schumer said...[shock]

Many thousands of M16A1's were lost/captured/stolen/whatever in Vietnam.  They've been picked up and sold to whoever had the money, in any quantity.  Some have been around the world, going from one force to another.  I don't doubt that if you were to check the serial number of that M16, it would come back as a write-off from Vietnam.  Or it could have come from El Salvador, or picked up from Israelis after some violence.

I seriously doubt they buy them from gun shows, though!  The prices would be MUCH higher at a gun show than they could get them for on the black market.

I'll bet more likely it was part of the huge giveaway that Uncle Sam made to the Isrealis just a few years ago--it's all on the fas.org site (I know, I know, they're gun haters, but the data is interesting).  They all seem to have switched to M-16s lately.  Makes 'ya wonder.

Fucking Che showed up in Israel!  Aieee!

On that note. I was down in Costa Rica two years ago. The owner of the resort I was staying at (A retired cruise captain from Canada) told me that at the border with Nicuragua, there were fishermen coming in with canoe loads of AK-47s selling them for the equivalent of $25 apiece.

Side bar: There's no standing army in Costa Rica, only a national police force. At the Mounted Police HQ, the overweight guard at the gate naps on a folding chair with his M16--yes M16--leaning on the wall beside him.

When you go to a bank, a private guard with an HK MP5K gives you a big smile and a cheery 'buenos dias'.

Obviously they're not too worried about rebels these days.

You must be mistaken, according to the guys on assault web the misunderstood Palestinians simply run around throwing rocks, and get "shot in the head" by the IDF.  That picture must be faked!

The M16 that you're seeing in the hands of the Palestinians, have been given by the Israel Defence Force in compliance of Oslo 2 agreements.
There is also a quota that is clandestine, and comes from Iran...

Rather than Bullseye, which is still the fastest pistol powder that have heard of, use blank powder if you can get it.  It makes Bullseye look like molasses in january.

Fill the case to the neck, seat an 80 gr. bullet on it with a HEAVY taper crimp, load and fire, and you may get six hundred yard's useful range...on the bolt carrier!  [shock] AFTER it goes through the shooter's skull!

The bullet, assuming it goes anywhere, may exceed 5000 FPS and should disintegrate before it leaves the barrel, making it an unusual form of shotgun round!

That would certainly be an interesting destructive test to perform, with high speed filming of the process.   We could get one of those Al Qaida terrorist detainees in Cuba to be the tester.

The M-16's were given to the Palestinian police force by Isreal.  A few years back at one of the 'Isreal gives something substantial in exchange for a promise of peace BS' meetings.  Planerench out.
