becks new book, arguing w/ idiots is a good, quick, and easy read.

Levin's, conservative manifesto was also good and probably more suited for a real reader (beck's book is like his show, crazy, informative, and ADD)

also a good one my gf's dad got me was Presidential Courage by Michael Beschloss. if he also likes history i would suggest this one. very interesting on the trials and tribulations which presidents when through. i think he would like it.

Has he ever read Howard Zinn's "A People's History of the United States"? It's a different take on the main stream versions.

Since this is a gun board how about Hatchers Notebook?  It's pretty technical but has facinating info and insights from Hatcher who was an army ordnance officer from before WWI through WWII.
