NBC SUITS RAP SORKIN AFTER BUSH 'COURAGE' SLAM; WHITE HOUSE: PRODUCER 'BITTER' AFTER DENIED REQUEST

WEST WING's Aaron Sorkin landed in the hotseat with NBC executives late Sunday after he mocked President's Bush courage and ripped his own network's news anchor in an interview set for release on Monday.

According to publishing sources, Sorkin has told the NEW YORKER: "It's absolutely right that at this time we're all laying off the [Bush] bubblehead jokes... but the truth is we're simply pretending to believe that Bush exhibited unspeakable courage at the World Series..., or that he, by God, showed those terrorists by going to Salt Lake City and jumbling the first line of the Olympic opening ceremony."

"Mr. Sorkin is way out of bounds, and his comments certainly do not, I repeat, do not represent the view of NBC, or anyone I know who works here, or our advertisers," said a top NBC executive from New York, who asked not to be named.

Meanwhile, a Bush Administration source reveals to the DRUDGE REPORT that Sorkin recently approached the real West Wing with a request to feature real White House players in an upcoming episode -- a request which was denied!

"He's attacked the president cause we turned him down," a White House staffer charges. "He's bitter after we closed the door on him! But, quite frankly, we're preoccupied with other things these days."

"I think Aaron would be better served focusing on the production of his show," said a source close to NBC entertainment president Jeff Zucker. "I am not sure he is aware just how inappropriate and damaging this might be for us...."

The NEW YORKER names Sorkin "the country's loyal opposition" in the report set to run in the mag's March 4 editions.

Sorkin tells Friend: "It's absolutely right that at this time we're all laying off the [Bush] bubblehead jokes. But that's a far cry from what the Times and CNN and others on whom we rely for unvarnished objectivity are telling us, which is that 'My God! On September 12th he woke up as Teddy Roosevelt! He became the Rough Rider!'"

Of NBC's own look at a day in the life of the Presidency, 'The Bush White House: Inside the Real West Wing,' which aired as the lead-in to a WEST WING repeat a few weeks ago, Sorkin charges: "The White House pumped up the President's schedule to show him being much busier and more engaged than he is, and Tom Brokaw let it happen?"

Sorkin continues: "The show was a valentine to Bush. That illusion may be what we need right now, but the truth is we're simply pretending to believe that Bush exhibited unspeakable courage at the World Series by throwing out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium, or that he, by God, showed those terrorists by going to Salt Lake City and jumbling the first line of the Olympic opening ceremony.

Sorkin tells the mag that he is planning to revisit the BUSH-GORE Florida showdown in an upcoming episode.

President Josiah Bartlet [played by actor Martin Sheen, who has called Bush a white knuckled drunk] is up for re-election this November.

"It was frustrating watching Gore try so hard not to appear smart in the debates. Why not just say 'Here's my fucking résumé, what do you got?' We're a completely fictional, nonpolitical show,...."

I think it's one of the best shows on television, liberal bullshit not withstanding.  Of course i'm not a nelson person so i can watch whatever i want without helping sorkin.

Don't watch ER anymore tho since the bald headed doc make antigun statements and used to ignore rosie when it was one in front of the stair climber at the gym (when i'm doing cardio i'd watch a fishing show if it was on the tube in front of me) so go figure.

And don't call me shirley.

Alan Sorkin also gave us the movie "The American President" - the nonstop insult to American culture and values and ends with a nauseating diatribe railing against conservativism and promoting liberal socialism.  Five-star ratings from all the critics and mucho awards - puke!

No I am proud to say I've seen the previews on TV and that's all the idiotic Clinton-ass-licking I can handle.

As an aside, how many regular TV characters on sitcoms or dramas are EVER shown using guns legitimately for hunting, target-shooting or self-defense?  How many regular TV characters on sitcoms or dramas are shown cross-dressing, going on gay-dates, contributing to the delinquency of their children, insulting religious conservatives or otherwise towing the left-wing PC dogma?

We have a rule at our house, we watch nothing with a Sheen in it.  Works for us.

I get enough aggravation from the news...why would I add to it by watching that POS show?

As his lawyers seem to be keeping him out of jail, I suppose all one can hope for is a timely overdosing. Fucking crackhead...

That's because current TV is CRAP. The only shows I watch on a regular basis are The Simpsons, Saturday Night Live, and Conan O'Brien. Plus whatever is on FOX news, history channel, & learing or discovery channel.

I've heard that Sorkin has "drug issues", a sure sign of a terminally depressed view of the world.

But really. Consider the show itself - Martin Sheene is "president" in Sorkin's la-la-land. Need any further reason to change the channel - or turn it off?

I don't watch that CRAP. I mainly watch Discovery channel, TLC, History channel and the SCFI channel.

You guys haven't figured it out yet???:

This is from my DSM-III (MiniD) of the APA (I know there is at least one more current version, but this works fine):

Schitzophrenic Disorders:

At least one of the Following during a phase of the illness:
1) Bizarre Delusions.
2) Grandiose Delusions.

Duration greater than 6 months.

Catatonic Type--
Criteria include Catatonic Negativism.

There's more in the DSM but what it boils down to is that the Liberal "elite" in Hollywood had to build their own reality rather than deal with the fact that Clinton is no longer in office, and Gore got thrown out.

Never seen a single minute of it....and now I never will.  My TV is pretty much limited to the Discovery Channel, TLC, Home and Garden, and Nickelodeon (5 year old loves SpongeBob...not that I ever watch it!).

How to describe the West Wing, well,  the acting is top notch, the story lines are well thought out and revelent, there is no left or right view and the premise of the show is not about the producers own point of view.
Further, it is not used as a tool of the liberal left to shed a kinder light on their way of thinking nor is it a show that helps to renforce sterotypical negitive leftist views of the right.
Instead it is good clean wholesome fun for the entire family...
IF THAT FAMILY HAS SHIT FOR BRAINS!
