I had my old deer rifle for sale on a local hunting forum. It was $350 for a 30.06 Rem 700 ADL. I had one guy bashing my price saying that he could get a NIB Rem 700 for $325 all day long in any caliber and what would be my bottom dollar on my used one? Really pissed me off. I tried to find out where this magic place was and he would not say. I told him he better go buy them out at that price. Just needed to blow off some steam.

The general rule around the shop downstairs is 700 for a 700.  A 700P, anyway.  I'm not interested in the other models.

Wal Mart used to sell ADLs for $364 in common calibers, but that is positively the cheapest I've ever seen them.

I could probably use the one at school for free

Why is that?  The 700P to me is much less desirable than a 5R.

I got one on clearance for $300, and it was still eligible for the $30 Christmastime rebate.

ETA-If I had the money and wanted one again, I'd consider yours a decent price at worst and would probably take it.

It is best to just ignore trolls like that.  It is hard to find even a ADL around here for under $400 that isn't absolutely thrashed....

Other than the M40, the 700 "police tactical" is the only one I've seen that still seems to "shoot".  I've no experience with a 5R.  Might be fine.

That same shit happens here too!

Any time someone posts about the cost of something, there is always some shit head who bought ONE of them 5 years ago in a one of a kind sacrifice deal for WAY less and thinks there is no way one is worth what ever the asking price is today.

Looks like the ADL has been replaced by the SPS, a synthetic stock model.

$579 at Gander Mountain.

Lots of comments on the ADLs running around $325 or so but that might have been because they were being phased out too.

I bought an ADL at Wal-Mart about a year ago for $300.  There was also a $30 rebate.  Couldn't pass it up, even though it was my 13th 30-06.
