That is kinda bad assed IMO...

Something looks odd about that pic. The guy looks real, while the surroundings look fake. However, it is an effective looking camo.

Is it just me or does it look like they used the "airbrush" tool in Paint to make that?

Remember the 60's 70's and 80's when the military was totally into jungle scenarios and all our camo was green?

Do we even have any of that stuff anymore???

The background is photoshopped in.  It looks very possible that the camo is photoshop as well.

I'd wager that the guy and the foreground (piled up concrete and re-bar, etc) are real but the background is 'shopped in.

Why? You won't be able to see anything? It is all camo.

Background is fake, what he is standing on (foreground) is real..

The fuck is up with that helmet? That looks like crap.

Is it Multicam?

No... then I don't fucking care.

Well, it's  better than ACU.

Huh.  I could deal with wearing that.

Looks like the Camo that the Rebels used when they went to Endor in Return of the Jedi.

I was thinking it kinda looks like what the Colonial Space Marines would be wearing. He just needs an M-41a Pulse Rifle.

That's the way to do it. Blend light & shadow and create more of a fading effect between colors, rather than defined blothches that are picked up immeadiately by the human eye.

Still not enough contrast for any real camouflage effect.

The Army has an excellent manual on Camouflage and Concealment.  One supposes the Uniform Board would read it on occasion.

Wonder if this means they dropped the universal idea and will have a woodland version too?

As if Claude Monet watercolored himself a camo pattern.  It only gives the impression of being effective.

The Colonial Space Marines wore frog-and-leaf camo, which looks nothing like the pic in the OP. It's more a blend of Woodland and Multicam, really.

You really don't need a huge amount of green in a pattern to make it effective in a green environment. Case in point, is the black bear. Not a speck of green on him and they can hide very effectively in the forest. Shadows are the key. Movement is what is usually the giveaway. Yes I know we're discussing military camo but the premise is the same.
