I have been wanting a navigation unit for my vehicle. I have been looking at the Garmin units. What do you all have and what model is best? Any input at all will help.  Thanks.

I have a TomTom and a Magellan unit. Both have similar functions and get you where you ask. The TomTom is easier to update, but is more prone to errors when updating.

I pick up and deliver cars for a living, so my GPS unit is integral to my job.  It's a must.

That said, everyone at my job seems to have a different one.  I've tried them all,  and the TomTom by far seems to be the most simple, easy to use unit, while retaining the features.  Low prices, too.

I got my TomTom One 130 for $59 last year brand new from Tiger Direct, just before black friday.

Garmin Nuvi 260t, love this thing! Most of the deputies have bought them as well. They can be upgraded with SD cards and the Garmin site is awesome. you can download new map updates, get free screen icons, all sorts of useful stuff. I bought a topographical map upgrade and use it for search and rescue call-outs. Get a GArmin, they're on sale at Walmart right now, you won't be sad.

Garmin = Better map accuracy, more popular, better support.

TomTom = Better interface, better routing, more "hacks" & apps, cheaper.

I own several of both.

That about sums it up.

Go with a Garmin Nuvi. You will be pleased
