If you wanna know the code for them, just find a post that has the smiley you want, and click "quote".

You will be able to see the code for it.

I used to save them in a notepad .txt file for later use...

I think if it's not on the ARFCOM list, what you'll see by doing this is a URL to someone else's photo hosting site.  If you <right click>  <save> it will be saved to your desktop and you can upload it to your own photo account.  At least, that's what I do, but I'm a technotard, there may be a better way.
