so has anyone else watched those broadview security commercials only to fantasize those "helpless" women pulling out some sort of weapon and blowing away the intruder??

can we gather some cash and see if we can make a commercial supporting guns in the home and see if the fox network will run it?

personally it would make me feel all warm inside seeing a would be rapist take two in the chest while im eating my dinner.

The commercial has already been made and duped often http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LhPs9rJiMM

I often say to Hubs that I'd like to see her whip out a Dirty Harry and blow that MFer away.  Dumbass commercials.

Not all of them, but they do have a stupid look on their faces when they're running away.

And with the perp entering when the alarm sounds and not running away.

Let us not forget the "victims" turning their backs to the intruder to answer the phone!  Honestly, I am not shocked by these depictions.  The funny thing is most criminals would be startled by an alarm system along with the reverse siren affect of the women screaming.

It is obvious that this product is recommended to and for women that do not have a man around the house.  I would like to see one of these commercials go the way we want them, but then that would be draining the job security away from the home security specialists.

People that place their faith in cameras and alarm systems alone are the equivilent of the countries of the World depending on the United Nations to stop the monsters of our World.

Brinks/Broadview sells fear, not 'security'.

My wife and I always love to watch and laugh at those commercials.

#1  Most people don't activate their alarm after coming in from playing in the yard on a leisurely afternoon.

#2 Most home invaders are not just going to cut and run when they hear an alarm sound after kicking down a door

#3  The monitoring companies dont respond instantly like they do on the commercials

Please feel free to add your own 4, 5, 6, etc...

oops, i hit the wrong poll option!

i can't stand those commercials. they need those women to shoot the BG's instead of running in fear.

Yeah every time I see those I laugh on the inside, the combination of the people setting the alarm while still inside the house and the fact that the guy who knows people are in the house is brazen enough to rob it with them in there yet still scared away by the noise for some reason.

Agreed.  I'm expecting an old man with a monocle and top hat to break through the front door.

When I was painting as a summer job I was at a house that had loose windows in frames and what not, long story short ended up setting off the alarm, the phone rang about 3 min after the alarm shut off and cops came about 15 min after that.  the Officer didn't really care too much, started walking back to his car before I even offered to show him our contracts to validate our presence.

I'd just like to see them have the balls to make the perp black in just one of the commercials...

Interesting thread.
Just ten minutes ago I tried to log on to Broadview to tell them how much I thought their commercials were racist...
I couldn't find anyplace on their website to leave a message.
I think they have been getting the message - did you notice that their last commercial has a "person of color" manning the board as the "white man" breaks in....
If I ever change security systems it won't be with Broadview!
