Made my eyes wet...a couple times.  And that is only one Marine...one American soldier.  I wish I had the ability to say something meaningful enough, a better way to express my gratitude for those who sacrificed their lives.  And to those to continue to sacrifice every day.

SEMPER FIDELIS MARINES

Got that on the Netflix list....

Try reading "Gift of Valor". Its the story of Cpl Jason Dunham, 1st Marine to be Awarded the MOH since Vietnam. Made me cry like a little girl.....

How could you not be moved by such a film?  That's the kind of show that needs to be played in every American home!  Kevin Bacon really nailed the role.  Kleenex festival for the whole family.  There isn't enough of this type of grit being produced, and it's sad that this wasn't given an adequate promotion.

An excellent movie. As the father of a Marine it was difficult to watch at times. I even choked up trying  to tell someone at work about it.

Easily Kevin Bacon's best work ever, and that's a large sample to choose from. So much of this awesome movie has no dialogue, and all we get is Kevin's character's reactions to  everything/everyone around his mission, and his struggles to maintain proper decorum.

A truely powerful and moving movie, I will buy this movie.

I read an article a while back about the stuff they do for troops who are killed. They will also sort of sanitize things for them. If they have a laptop, they'll search it and delete anything that would be embarassing for the family to find, etc.

When it first came out we got to talking about it before one of my college classes began. The professor actually said "I watched it. I don't get what the big deal is. If a teenage kid was killed due to gang violence he wouldn't receive the same treatment". All I could say was "You really don't get it do you".

I first saw "Taking Chance" in Iraq a few months ago. Myself and a few other Marines in my Plt were... soggy...

Great movie. Watch the special features too.

This would have earned him a free flying lesson if I were around, and I'm not blowing smoke.  What a piece of shit!
