According to the wife, the little bastard has been barking all day.  Neighbor is not home, and is not answering his cell or texts.  I really don't want to call the cops, but this shit is getting old.  Any ideas?

Get some white bread and peanut butter, roll some good size globs into balls with the bread and give to said dog, should be good for a while.

Apartment/townhouse setting? You're fucked. If it's an outside dog I'm a sure any number of properly aimed projectiles of your choosing could persuade it to stfu.

I don't know how your local law enforcement is set up, but I have had very good results with calling the police and then code enforcement.

Heard from neighbor.  He'll be home in a 1/2 hour to take care of the dog.  On a side note, the other neighbors dog is in heat.  That is what is causing the problem.  And for those wondering, pie trumps dog toy filled with treats.  He wanted nothing to do with it.

My mom has four mutt's that barked constantly at anything. Airplanes, leaves, birds etc. Shes pretty old and has since hit three of them with her truck.Nothing serious, just a painful bump or a drive over the foot. Those three dogs are now very well mannered. They only bark at me now.And I'm not the one that hit them with a truck.

Of course you would name a gun the hippy husher.  Why come you not have any shenanigans lately?

They have ultrasonic and so forth anti-barking devices, no idea how well they work. They have sensors that respond to the barking, then shoot out this ultrasonic noise at them in return. Supposedly it teaches them to associate the annoying noise with barking, and they'll stop barking.

Other ones are fully audible and aimed at the neighbor's house so that the neighbors hear the noise too.

I've never tried these but they umm, sound interesting.

Keep calling the law.  The tickets add up.  Either the owner will get rid of the dog eventually when it costs them too much, or the court takes the nuisance dog.  Two of my neighbors dogs are finally gone!! YIPPEE!  Only 3 more to go! Sigh

Just been busy, bro. I only log on once, maybe twice a week lately, it seems.

Sometimes they are just waiting for someone to call

I had a dog keeping me up one night so I called

In less than10 mins I saw 3+ cars there

Found out in the local paper the guys dog had bit (or tried to) a Mailman and some other stuff but it was done in a way they could do nothing
My call was all they needed
He resisted arrest too
But I think he might have done it for real
Not the sharpest tack from what I could tell

The dog is in heat?

I think we all know what the dog wants.  Find it a mate!

If it's before 11:00 (or whatever the cut-off time for your local "disturbing the peace" noise ordinance is), you deal with it.
