Guiness Extra Stout is my favorite beer hands down.  So when I finally saw a 6 pack of the Guiness 250th Anniversary Stout on the shelf of my local grocer, I couldn't deny myself the opportunity to try it.  I'll be cracking em open a little later.  Has anyone had this beer before?

Haven't seen it yet.  Do they have a widget, or are the of the horrible flat variety?

I'm a major Guinness enthusiast, I tried it, I prefer the original draught, but the difference in taste was minimal.

I liked it.

More like a traditional stout than the creamy Irish stout that is Guiness.

It's good, not nearly as bitter as extra stout, but nice and malty.

Especially good on tap.

i think it seems a bit thin. it tastes as if it was brewed for people that don't care for the taste of guinness.

It's okay, but it's no Spaten Optimator.

I figured that they just changed the can.

I was disappoined. I prefer the draught.

Like I originally said, I'm a big fan of the Extra Stout.  It wasn't quite as rich, but it had a very nice flavor.  But taste is just like beauty - It's in the eye of the beholder.  I actually really like the 25th Anniversary Stout, but I wouldn't choose it over the Extra Stout on a regular basis... Especially at $12 / 6 pack.
