DON'T DO IT!
Teh gubmints will controls your brainz. Evil scientists developed the vaccine, and the government is telling you to get it. If that's not reason enough to run away screaming, I don't know what is.  Now to the real world: If you have the chance to get the vaccine, then YES, get it. Why wouldn't you? |

Just took my 6month old to the pedi this morning for his well baby check up. She asked me what I thought of the vax, I told her I was disinclined to have them get it. She didn't bat an eye, bashed Obama and his socialistic tendencies (I kid you not) and proceeded with the rest of the exam. If she didn't raise concern over a 6 month old not getting it considering that his age cohort is one of the ones getting hammered the hardest, I'm not sure it's all that imperative for an adult.
Do you normally get the seasonal flu shot? If not, I see no reasons to get the swine flu vax. It is, after all, this season's seasonal flu. |

I got mine last Thursday.
Other than a slight attraction to Rosie O'Donnell, I haven't noticed any side effects. 
Seriously though, no side effects for me. Wife had a slight headache, son felt a little sick for a couple hours(but that may have been unrelated). We all had the nasal mist. My younger children just got the injection-type shot today, will update with any side effects. |

Since you seem to work around a lot of sick people with it, I'd strongly consider it.
As a fellow IT guy / programmer, I hate how it's like pulling teeth for me to use my vacation days. They give me these days then it's pulling fucking teeth to actually use them
ETA: I have never had a flu shot. The flu is not likely to kill me. There are other people who it likely will kill. So those folks can have mine. |
