It's bad enough that New Jersey is a "blue state", populated by believers in
the saving power of the omnipresent government.  We have a smattering of GOP
strongholds, towns that understand what it is like to work for a living.

But when they elect RINOs (Republicans In Name Only) I can only wonder why
they have abdicated their responsibility to the principles of limited
government, federalism, and lower taxes.

The Waxman-Markey Cap & Tax (they call it "Cap and Trade") legislation
squeaked through the House tonight, with the help of three GOP congressional
representatives from New Jersey.  What were these turkeys thinking?  It's
OK to raise energy prices for every American?  It's desirable to limit the
choices we have when we want to heat our homes?

Christopher Smith (NJ-4)

They voted against you.  They voted to raise your taxes.  They voted
to increase the price of your electricity.  They voted to take away your
ability to choose which car you can drive.  The Heritage Foundation estimates
that your electric bill will increase by $3900 per year if this legislation
is enacted.  Do you have an extra $3900 lying around?  I don't.  Other studies
indicate that rolling blackouts and power shortages will result from the need
to cap the emission of CO₂ from power plants.
