I'm so sick of being cold...keeping the thermostat at 59 degrees is ridiculous. Do all...diametrically enhanced...individuals really keep them all set cold?

Ask armoredsaint ... I think he ran some sort of experiment on how cold he could keep his house. I think he beat 59 too.
Edit: not saying that armoredsaint is "gravitationally challenged", only noting that I think he could beat 59 degrees. I keep mine at 65 in the winter. |

I feel your pain. However, living in AZ, I get my revenge in the summer time, when I'm not overheating and they're dying of heat stroke.  ETA: 6', 145 lbs, 32 inch waist. |

Skinny guy here. I like the temp about 60-65 Degrees F (15-18 C). 70 in the winter is just too warm.

I was 300+ pounds last winter and typically kept the thermostat between 65-68º … Over the last year I've lost 90+ Lbs and am actually finding I can tolerate cooler temps much better ... I've got the thermo between 62-65º now, and am actually sitting at my desk in my home office right now in shorts, a tank top and bare feet.
I attribute it to the efforts I've undergone in the last year to improve my health and increase my metabolism ... my internal furnace is firing much hotter and efficiently and keeping my entire system running much much warmer. |

If it was not for the wife unit the heat would never even come on. I burn up all winter. Last night she was in sweaters and blanket - me, shorts and wife beater
wa wa - I am too tall. Try being built like an oak stump, clothes never fit - thin waist, thick short legs - short trunk and big upper body 5'9" 200 lbs |

If you have insurance and if it does cover a visit to an endocrinologist you should get some diet advice. They can run an A1C to check your history to see if you are diabetic. If not, great news but they can help you gain some weight. Although, personally I am not as thin as you, I do have to order clothes since my waist size and inseam are 36/38x36 and a wear a 52 tall jacket. When you find a brand that fits order it online. I order three pairs of jeans every couple of years just so I don't waste gas and time looking for them. Carhart seems to be a better fit for me.

I spend 8 hrs a day doing what are basicly low impact aerobics at work (auto mechanic) and I usually only have one real meal a day. According to the wife units Wii fitness program I have a BMI of 21.98 and a fitness age of 34 (I'm 46). All my hunting buddies say I am a billy goat and I can out walk all of them, even guys half my age. |

thermostat set to 82 or just a degree or two below outside temperature to dry the inside air (whichever is lower) during the summer
68 during the winter. i'll put on more clothes, because i already bought the clothes, buti don't want to buy more electricity. |

I'm 6'0 190lbs and wear 36-38 waist. I also keep the house at 70 during the winter because of my lung problems. Electric bill is cheaper than hospital stay.

I feel your pain. 6'1 and 170lbs (Lost about 10lbs since I got the flu
) with long legs. Try finding a 31" waist and 36" inseam. Yeah, it's not going to happen unless you have Wranglers made for you. Then throw a 1911 in an OWB holster, a spare magazine, keys, two knives, phone, wallet, MP3 player and headphones––my hips are happy when I finally unload my pockets at home. I need a better belt.

Hell, I wish I could afford to turn my heat on. During the winter my house is normally in the high 30s or low 40s. I'm about ready to dig out a fire pit in the middle of my living room.

People have REALLY different internal thermostats.
I'm 6'1", 260# with a 38" waist and about 15% bodyfat. Downhill ski in T-shirts. Someone above posted how he "could sleep in the snow"; I've done that many times with a waterproof groundcloth, cotton shirt and a pillow. It feels amazing! The ridiculous part is that I live in Sacramento for much of the year, usually including summer. I can hardly even eat on a triple digit day. I die a little bit during the summer. |
