I once had a MK760 which was a S&W[v] model 76. The extractor was broke, so I traded it for an eagle arms AR.

I don't know what you mean by "pass on", didn't buy or re-sold?
I missed out buying a new post '94 ban/pre 98 ban Springfield Armory SAR-8 for $1000. They were banned before I got around to buying it. I just have a hard time spending $1300(more now) for something that cost $1000 just a month prior. I refuse to participate in supply and demand. [Edited for Language and Nudity] |

Oh yes the ole prybar to the wallet routine, too many times, get home and sulk all day thinking to myself I should have bought the damn thing. I try not to let that happen to often anymore. the one I do regret selling is the 1956 Type II National Match Garand. 100%, absolutly beautiful, paper work and all the best I've ever seen. Oh well, gone but not forgotten. Made a thousand dollars though. rather have the gun.

In 1990 I passed on a Portuguese AR-10 built on a Sendra receiver for $900.00 because I thought it was too much...........
My problem hasn't been passing on buying them, it's selling them when I get in a fit of "but I gotta have this one and the only way I can do it is to trade this one....." |

Same here guys.... Class III dealer.... mid-80's.... full crate of transferrable M16A2's (10 I think)... all at $1500 each..... "who needs full auto anyway.."

I regret a few when I was younger, I had a retired us customs m-16 that I sold, now I kick myself repeatedly. The worst though was when I had my ffl, before the ban when it was $30 fof 3 years and one of my suppliers offered me Sprinfield Armory M1A's at $279 with wooden stocks!!! Boy if I would have bought a few dozen and stored them I would've made a mint.

I bought a real (semi) AK47 in Kalifornia back in 1983 for $150, and a Colt AR15 for $300. I sold them both in March of 1989 since I didn't want to haul them around with me.

I guy at work offered to sell me a Colt AR15 with a heavy barrel for $400.00. He was moving and getting rid of his gun collection and told me if I wanted the gun, then he would sell it to me for $400.00. If not, he had another friend who was interested. At first, I thought it must be a piece of junk to go for that price, but it turned out to be in excellent condition. Anyways, his friend bought it before I could get my act together. I've kick myself ever since.

Sold my Pre-Ban Mini14 with folding stock for $300 to help pay for an AR I never bought. I also sold my NIB Plainfield M1 Carbine to pay for my Quality Carbine...the list goes on and on. Look Im almost a member, hooray!!!!!!!! [8D]

There are a few guns that I could have bought and now I kick myself.
1 - FN FAL. Just prior to the PRK ban, a guy was selling one, but the price was all jacked up. Well, now I can't buy one at any price.... 2 - Colt Sporter Preban $1750. I wanted to buy a companion to my Bushmaster postban. Well, now I can't buy one at any price.... 3 - M1 Carbine $125. Many years ago, a dealer was selling near new carbines with a bag of mags cheap. Now $400+ and no mags. 4 - MAK-90 $700. Once again stupid PRK laws mean I am a felon if I try to be a Citizen. Stupid laws cause rip-off pricing. |

an original ruger 44 carbine, excellent condition for $200.(1990) an "original" canadian issue fal for $650 (1997) colt pre ban ar15`s for $600 (1983) remington 1100`s any variety, for$300-$350 (1988) smith&wesson model 29,4inch bbl, because they don`t make them any more (1996) colt "government" model 45`s any variety from the 70`s or 80`s because they don`t make thm any more......[heavy]

PreBan Colt 6700 Limited Edition Flattop 1 of 2000, traded for a pickup truck 3 years ago. I still have the box to remind me how stupid I was.
Passed on a Mini-14GB folding stock NIB 2 years ago $600.00 Last year a friend had a Detonic Combat Master $200.00 Last real deal was a preban Poly Tech side-folder NIB 3 years ago $400.00. I still have it and it's still NIB.[:D] |

Almost any gun I saw in the 80s.
-new class III MP5 for 800 bucks -full auto UZIs for 350 A word of advice: buy up the SARs for 300 bucks and the FALs for 500 now, or you'll be kicking yourself over them later |

About five years ago, a local pawn had a honest to goodness Famas. I did not know what it was at the time,came back after i did some digging on it a week later and you know it "GONE".
These guys always cut some deals too! |

- 303 British Jungle Carbine - NRA, excellent - Valmet M76, solid stock that would go full auto every once in a while. - High Standard Citation: that still bothers me! So, now I keep everything I buy, give em to the boys, but never sell anything. |

I don't usually put myself in the position to NOT buy a gun. It is usually the other way around. But I do remember about 3 years back the local WalMart was have a clearance of guns. They had about 5 ADL Rem 700's for $240. I should of bought all five but I only bought one.

i've only been collecting for a few years, so i never really had a chance to miss out on all the great stuff in the 80's, butg being in california i'm lucky enough to have a new ban every fer yaers or so that makes me regret not buying the neccesities.
lets see... i regret not buying at leat one AK style rifle i regret not buying a VEPR when i had the chance i regret not buying a few more AR lowers before the ban i regret not buiying another KEL Tec P-32 when i had the chance usually, i'm pretty good about not passing up a good deal though. on the other hand i've bought a few guns i didnt like: Sprinfield M-6 Scout (horrible ergonomics and trigger) Beretta 950 Jetfire, 25 ACP (my first gun, but a HORRIBLE caliber and lousy sights) a CZ semi-auto, take-down rifle in .22 Magnum (the gun had all sorts of annoying "european" style safties and one of the $40 magazines malfed every shot. it also had no way to take it apart for cleaning. i ended up trading it for a Marlin Camp Carbine in .45 ACP. What a sweet gun! i took it to the range and got two inch groups at 100 yards with an 18 inch hold over! i nailed a golf ball at firty yards with one shot (using a red dot sight) what a great, fun gun!) |
