Yep. My uncle's and my buddy's Bronco's have them on the floor. However, my old '86 K2500 Chevy had the straight pull back on the instrument lever on the left, as does my '00 K1500 Chebby.

First couple of trucks I owned had it. Vent windows too, that's something I really miss on new vehicles. Wanna see something funny, put a young kid in the seat of a column shift 3 speed and watch their head explode.

Although I don't mind the steering column switch on my GMC that much. That probably has much to do with the fact that i drove a chevy for work for 2 years and countless thousands of miles and then bought a GMC for my personal truck. I will own another 80's ford though. I loved my 300 straight six F150 |

When they first switched, I kept getting my feet tangled in the steering wheel. 1st car= 73 Cutlass,2nd car= 68 Galaxy 500.

They were built like tanks! Mine was an inline-6 as well. Thing was a torque bitch. I loved it. 5-speed stick shift, too. |

The family beater truck has it. I don't like using my brake foot to mess with the headlights, especially on country roads when i'm tapping them on and off for every oncoming car.

My first car was a 52 Studebaker. I was blessed with all the nice things like a dimmer switch in the floor, starter switch in the floor, vent windows, 3 on the tree, 6 cylinders, and even had suicide doors in the rear.

Yep, I thought about it a few months ago when my Trailblazer's headlight relay went out and cost $30 to replace. Well that was better than my last trucks "multi-function" switch that was close to $300.

I miss those. Sadly like many of the great features of vehicals were lost when the manufactures started focusing on creature comforts instead of usablity. I have a working theory: The coolness of a vehical is inversely proportional to the number of cupholders.

Then I picked up a Mini Cooper S, which was about 1/4 the size and weight of the Dodge...
Both had floor start buttons. I got alot of attention in high school from both of them.....great for girls...nothing like cruising Tommys or In 'n Out burger after the Friday night game... |

On my car, all headlight controls are on the left, and all windshield wiper controls are on the right, so thats not an issue.
I do have a manual, so I could see how they wouldn't all fit on that side if you have the transmission selector on the right. I have turned my headlights off one time when trying to flip on the brights. That's much worse than a bit of windshield wiper fluid. |
