Don't know what your intended purpose is, but remember that generally, compensated pistols are for range/competition/hunting use. Fire a compensated pistol from a retention position (tucked into side or chest) and you get a face full of hot gas and fouling - and your ears are not happy either.

I really like Glocks, but I don't care for a compensated carry gun. You may wish to shoot one in low light conditions, I had a tough time finding the sights after a shot.

Get the plain 'ol 19, for PP/Cary there should only be [b]one[/b] hole in the damned barrel!
You'll loose some velocity with the compensated one, AND get to see that big yellow [b][size=4][yellow]V[/yellow][/size=4][/b] for about 5 minutes if you ever have to use it in the dark. There is a place for comp guns, but NOT for personal protection. JMO |

First a disclaimer: I hate Glocks!
Now that that's out of the way, not a 9mm, but I borrowed a G22C and fired it next to my G22 without a comp. and did not observe a noticeable difference. Wilson has a great point, I never shot a compensated gun in low-light situations, but I'd assume it would be horrible on you night vision (human night vision, not the electronic kind). |
