So says this article:
http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/nm/20020214/ts/attack_philippines_usa_dc_1.html

Phillippine news reporters on the island have heard a rumor that the Abu Sayyef cell holding the American hostages have seperated from the others and want to discuss surrender. See here: http://www.inq7.net/nat/2002/feb/15/nat_4-1.htm

The Communists are not happy about the deployment of US SpecOps personall to the combat zone, and keep reminding everyone that the post-Marcos constitution prohibits the invitation of foreign troops for military opperations in the Phillippine Islands.

Perhaps the Communists would like to fight us as well? Remember the line "for us or against us", it seems the Phillippine Left is having trouble understanding it.

While the media focused on the "left" railing against the United States, I did see one poll that showed over 80% of the Phillippine people were glad the U.S. was there !

It may be necessary to come uninvited, and they could protest limply.  That would save their administration from being accused of undermining their constitution.

Think we could snatch one of the assholes in the middle of the night and send one finger part a day back to their camp or a designated message post? Would we have the balls to shoot a hostage (or a reporter) just to show them we don't f**k around?
