Beretta writes in response to my inquiry:

"Thank you for your inquiry concerning the United We Stand pistol that you own.The pistol which you purchased is the stainless version of the United We Stand pistols.This model will not have the engraving in gold or the 1 of 2001 markings. It will have the American Flag and the "United WE Stand " engraving. Only the first 2001 black finish pistols were engraved with the 1of 2001 emblems. The original 2001 United We Stand pistols were so popular that the market requested that we offer more.
The factory supplied more in the stainless version but the factory elected not to engrave the 1 of 2001 because the stainless version is not to be a collectors item."

WHAT A RIPOFF!!!! I WAS ROBBED!!!! Can anyone say "FRAUD"???

I can say "fraud", but I can also say "how bout knowing what you are buying, before you buy it"!!

Around here they are the same price as the other S.S. 92's. What do you expect, something extra for nothing more? They are sharp looking, etching for free!

I prefer the plain 92FS with the "United We Stand" etched ammo. [;)]

It's still a damn fine gun. And I bet it goes bang everysingle time you pull the trigger. DA or SA even!

That is one thing about a Beretta!  They just won't jam!  Mine wouldn't jam, if I wanted it to!

Go over to the beretta forum (www.beretta-forum.com).  A lot of people are pissed (me included) because Beretta started using plastic safety levers on their pistols.

Uh....I took the one I bought (NOT the engraved type) out of the box and looked at it BEFORE I started signing the paperwork. UNLESS you bought it via mail order (?) Other than that, yes, mine does go "BANG" whenever loaded and I pull the trigger, and hasn't jammed yet.

there are two of them auction arms right now one for $530(blued) the other for $570(stainless) with pics...and you guys are telling me the blued will be worth more...smooth..LOL
