Honestly.

I mean really, How hard is it? (no pun intedned)

Just put up a web site, through some pix and mpg's in there and charge people a monthy fee?

Just like casino's.

People drop by, shoot the breeze, give their money and leave.

Sounds's like a good money maker doesn't it?

Yes, no?

Even have a discreet way to pay the fee so no one knows what's up?

Maybe even have a drawing for a months's free membership?

Sound good?

it's not too hard if you have a source of material. a friend of mine (seriously) tried it a couple of years ago for the same reason you stated.  almost no work for a large monetary return.  the problem is getting the material without breaking copyright laws.  he tried it for a while because it seemed like a good idea (lots of pervs out there), but it never panned out. you also have to think about how you would feel if YOUR kid was looking at the stuff you posted, and THEY WILL find a way, (remember your dads playboy collection)  anyone who doesn't think minors look at that stuff is shitting themself.

i've contemplated this on several occasions as well. i have access to graphics and development people so most of the technical obstacles are gone. but, content has always come up as an issue.

licensing images for use can get expensive and booking models for exclusive shoots even more so. if you have some capital to burn, it might be fun for you to try. i'm not conivinced you couldnt make more money with something else though.

either way, i still keep an eye on that market. it is definitly devleoping.

And this is where responsible parenting comes in. NO child under the age of 16 or so should be unsupervised on the net.

Beer -

Surely your not implting either that -

1. Parents that are NOT 100% efficient in keeping their kids away from internet porn are "irrsponsible."

or

2. That even the BEST of parents would be able  100% of the time to keep their kids away from internet porn.

Right???

My thing is this -

If someone had had the moral courage in 1934 to take PERSONAL steps to stops the gun grabbers, I could afford an M16.

And

If some people would simply say "I'm NOT gonna be the one to make a parents job THAT much more difficult by making pron so readilty available" we would have less access by minors to porn.

When is SOMEONE gonna FINALLY say "Enough?"

Three questions -

1. Is it the parents responsibility to monitor their kids activities?? Yes, absolutely.

2. Is the kid ultimately responsible for their own actions? Double absolutely.

3. Does this absolve porn peddlers in their responsibility to society, or make it morally right for them to be cashing those checks hand over fist while pervs and pedophiles are charging their juices on that peddlers porn and then doing their eveil deeds???

I THINK NOT.

My $0.02.

I have NO intention of taking it away from you. And I wouldn't support any law banning or restricting it.

My hope is that you will decide to stop looking at it yourself. Based solely on the fact that the $$$ you pay at the news stand go to the same organizaions that make it available on the internet, without restriction, to naturally curious minors. And do so without one shred of guilt, as they know they are cultivating the NEXT generation of newsstand porn buyers. Its all about the money - don't let them kid you that they care one shred for free speech.

Just think about this the next time you find yourself in front of a newsstand.

But, it is ENTIRELY your call. its not a decision I would or could make for you.

This is the reason why most of those models are Eastern Europeans (usually from former USSR) and other third would countries.

Hey! I'll have you know that I have never paid a damn cent for my porn. (Unless you count the internet bill, but I use it for other stuff too. No, really!) Anyway, that is what good searching skillz are all about!

There are several things to think about:

1. Content - you can't just cut and paste from the news groups. Well, I suppose you could, but why would anyone pay to get porn that they can get for free? You also have to update the content on a regular schedule, say once a week.

2. Bandwidth - you will probably have to host your own server, since most providers frown on hosting a porn site using their lines. There are some 3rd party ISP's that let you store your content on their servers, but that can get expensive since they have the market cornered.
You will also have to pay for the bandwidth you use. If you get a lot of traffic, then you may be cut off (not good), or you will pay thru the nose. You are better off getting a dedicated high-speed line and your own server, it is usually cheaper in the long term.

3. Liability - you need to setup some sort of credit verification scheme to keep the kids out. Unless it is a proprietary credit billing, you might not see much, if any, of the $29.99 or whatever you charge.

4. CONTENT!!! (again) Streaming movies, interactive features, live chats, you might need some or all of them. People want them, and that is where the money is. I can get pictures and many movies off the newsgroups for free, so why would I pay for them?

A good friend setup  a porn site with the same intention that you have, get some picture up and watch the money roll in. Never happened. Cost him a bundle.

The other problem is that there are so many porn sites out there that none of them are making money any more.  Why pay $20/month when you can get free samples from a few dozen sites?

Internet porn is a highly compeditive buisness
and unless your one hell of a marketer then your chances of making money are slim even if your content is good also you have to get your own people to do photo shoots I dont think getting girls to strip is a real hard thing to do but it costs $$$ there are alot of collage girls out there that need money.
Allso I dont think anyone who has much sence even pays for porn there are thousands of free sites out there thats where the minors go and every one else who has more time than money and it sharpens your search skills sorting out the advertising crap from the real content

It's hopeless dude.  Every possible niche fetish that you could try to get an "angle" on for originality and content has been covered by a thousand websites by now.  Good porn (and some nasty, but curiously intriguing stuff) is free via usenet, free porn sites that offer easy user interfaces and so forth are relatively easy to find and offer decent quality poon pics, member chat and pic (which can be interesting) groups with the larger pay porn sites are normally free access now.  Pay porn on the net isn't going to last a whole lot longer.  It relies on a few hardcore (pardon the pun) porn junkies and newbies who don't know they can get the same shit for free.  The group of junkies isn't going to get much bigger and there are fewer newbies to be had because the internet is reaching about all the people who can afford it right now.

Find some other interesting niche to exploit outside of porn.  The nastier and more taboo the better.

Speaking from experience, you would be much better off recruiting girls to take pictures and license the content to other porn webmasters and distributors. If you get a lucky strike of lightning, one of your girls might become very famous and your pics will appear hustler or penthouse.

I charge $200 for a single site license for a set of 36 pictures. If you have 30 porn sites (think about it... how hard is that given the sheer volume of sites out there) who license your stuff, you made $3K. The girls get $500 for a single shoot on a one time basis and a 20% royalty. Since the pics are all done digital, there is no production cost once your equipment has been amortized. So my hard cost (no pun intended) for a single shoot that sells $3K is $1100. This leaves a profit of $1900 or nearly 60% margin. The margins go up the more you sell too.

Of course, it takes some initial convincing to get the wife to let you do it. But once the cash starts flowing she will recruit her hottie friends for you.
