Undated publicity photo shows U.S. Army Delta Force action figure, part of the Freedon Force line of action figures. The staying power of G.I. Joe, the American military toy icon, is coming under heavy fire as rivals join the ranks in the growing field of action figures. Toy makers in the United States and around the world are rushing to cash in on the growing appeal for action figures that embody heroic sentiments since the Sept. 11 attacks on the United States. Have you seen the new ones?  The detail is freakin incredible.  With all the competition in this market segment, which has been heating up for a few years now but has started to catch even more attention lately, the different companies are working hard to outdo eachother, and the details are where it's at.

Many of them come with weapons like M4/RAS systems where the grip panels, forward pistol grip, Aimpoint, etc. all actually detach so you can configure the weapons in pretty much any setup that you'd have in real life.  They've also got stuff like the tac slings and assault vests.  And of course all the magazines for the rifles and pistols.

I didn't realize how for it has gone in the past few years until I saw a table of this stuff at a gun show a couple of months ago.  The guy had stacks and stacks of all the weapons, accessories, hands with the fingers in all different positions to hold different items, different heads so you can make them look however.

Dude, you are sitting on a potential gold mine! I hear that the originals (if they are complete, and in good cond.) are worth BIG $ to collectors!

Click on the "Marine MOUT" link and it's a site FULL of this stuff.  Also, I saw some recently on a regular AR site, but I can't remember which one.  Try Cav Arms.

Here is a set that is just the M4

Screw G.I. Joe.  Where can I get G.I. Jane action figures? [:D]

Actually, the detail on those is pretty impressive.

They must be for adults.  If a kid took one to school they would be jailed under the new zero weapons tolerance policies.  Watch-Six
