Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - HelpI've lost sound to my DVD movies but not games

I made some adjustments to my pc, now I've lost the sound to movies. I have a hollywood plus decoder. The picture is fine, but still no sound.
My games have sound, and when windows comes up theres that sound.
Any suggestions?

try removing the sound card driver and reboot, when windows comes back it will reinstall the drivers , has worked for me in the past.

check the sound cable running from the back of the drive to the sound card. it is found on the left side of the drive viewing it from the rear (inside the computer)
