Just one?

There is a Glock 19 on the nightstand. An M1 carbine on the other side of the bed. a 38spl in the kitchen drawer, a 32acp in a secret spot in the den, a .357 snubbie in a hidden spot in the basement.  Shall I go on?

It all depends on which gun is being carried that day, and which guns are left behind.

There is always an AK with a loaded mag inserted nearby. Either the USP Compact or Full Size is loaded on the nightstand, depending on which is being carried that day.

Louisville Slugger 33"/30oz.

Close neighbors means no AR for HD, NY means no handguns. Working on a 12ga though.

I'm afraid I'm more likely to hurt myself or one of my family, if there are weapons around, so I tend to rely on education to preempt the violence.

There's no real defined one. I keep weapons stashed throughout the house, and if I'm wandering around the apartment I usually have something with me. It's either my Mossberg 500c 20ga, S&W 638 or Bersa Thunder .380. Though, this morning, I was wandering around with my Marlin 336 .30-30.

I answered pump shotgun, since if I need a long gun in a pinch, I'm likely to go to that over the Marlin. Like a few weeks ago where I saw some hoodlums running through the complex being chased by police and looking for somewhere to hide. I grabbed the Mossberg over everything else.

If it's night time, and I hear someone coming through my bedroom window, they're getting the business end of an S&W 638, or Bersa Thunder .380.

If it's night time, and I hear someone coming through the front door, or the front window. If my roommates don't dispatch them before I do, and my attack cat doesn't rip their ankles to shreds, I'm coming out with a pistol (probably the aforementioned S&W 638 or Bersa Thunder).

If it's night time, and I hear someone coming through the back door, it's the Marlin along with the 638 or Sigma since it's kind of an long, awkward shot for a shotgun and it's too long a distance from my hallway to the back door for me to be confident in the stopping power of a .380.

Once I can afford to buy a 1911, the .380s will be effectively retired from house gun duty and replaced with that.

For my SO, the shotgun is on her side of the bed since she shoots that extremely well, so at night time that's her go-to gun, along with the Colt Police Positive.

I wish you'd had multiple choices. I keep a .45 pistol on the floor next to my bed, and a LR308 standing up between the headboard and a the gun cabinet next to it.  I couldn't decide on whether to classify the LR308 as an AR15 or because of caliber, full powered battle rifle.
