M110A2 Self Propelled 8 Inch Howitzer

Somehow, that 203mm gun makes the 5.56mm seem a wee bit puny.

I'm sure those big rounds got the attention of many NVA and Iraqi troops. And the Warsaw Pact forces would have also found it impressive had they decided to take a stroll through the Fulda Gap.

In a way, it's too bad such a beast of an artillery piece is no longer in use by our troops. But I suppose the impressive range and lethality of the MLRS, as well as improvements to the 155mm kind of made guns such the M110 obsolete.

The cool thing about the M110, it continued to bring hell down on the enemy after it was retired. Barrels from these guns were used to make the cases for the early bunker buster bombs we used.

Oh yeah!  

Bigger is always better.
