Not wanting to play Rambo or anything but I'd like a decent vest to carry my pistol and pistol/rifle mags etc. as waist carry is impractical for me. Nothing I've found is larger than 52" chest and I need a 56". Yeah, I know, go on a diet fat boy!

Fat boy? you wish, try finding ah vest/armor for ah 64in chest and that's when I'm NOT working out. |

+1 on Blackhawk. I have one of their's myself and it's a good vest, besides the other gear of their's I use too. I've bought most of it from these guys though and their good to deal with and have fair prices. Mine is actually one of the original Omega #1's in the larger size and it's bigger than I need. I'm barrel chested too and 6'4", 250lb. The padded LBE belts are very nice by the way to go with the vests. PatriotOutfitters |

Get yourself a modular, XXL (maybe a XXXL) plate carrier with molle-style modular mag/accessory/holsters and crap.
