Guy with the pizza thread reminded me of this. Why do people ask about how many slices or pieces there are in a pizza, sushi roll, loaf of bread or whatever?
If I cut the same size pizza or sushi roll into more slices, will it somehow mean it provides more food?
Now if your figuring out some party, its simple numbers and it makes sense, but I've served people eating by themselves who ask this shit. Your gonna eat the thing in 8 slices, but if it makes you feel better about yourself if you eat it in 6 then we can cut it accordingly. Why people think "slice" is some scientific measurement like the imperial or metric system is, is beyond me. Shit, tell your friend you want a single slice from a generous pizza place, but they are lazy and settle for papa johns, then you really want two slices. Now if your roommate is lazy AND stoned and settles for dominos then you really want four slices...get me?
Maybe you should get an idea of how large the whole thing is, then how many pieces and then figure it out.
