Big Blue Oyster fan myself, and yes they are one of the most underrated acts in Rock history. While few remember them as a metal band, that is exactly what they were in the early days, they had a sound all their own, but it was certainly late seventies metal.

I used to have a 45 with "Cities on Flame (with rock and roll)" on it.
Got it from a radio station. Forget what was on the flip side... That was my introduction to BOC. 
They have put out a lot of good rock. |

Big fan. The first record I ever bought was Fire of Unknown Origin because I was an idiot and thought their Heavy Metal was the song from the movie of the same name. Soon realized I'd made a brilliant mistake and memorized that album as only a teenager can.
I saw them a few years ago at a local casino. Buck Dharma played this weird swiss cheese headless guitar. Maybe trying to save his back or maybe just eccentric. |

I saw them a couple of times in the early 80's at the Agora Ballroom. At that time they were touring as the "Soft White Underbelly".
During one of the shows, my wife and I were able to get right up next to stage for most of the show. We were also about three feet away from one of the amps and my ears were still ringing three days later  Good Times!
