Does anyone here really give a crap about the winter olympics?

yesh...i give a crap.

watched the usa struggle to a 22nd place in the men's 30k cross country. watched the women's 15k...awesome win for italy by a gal that had to stop for a replacement pole while halfway up the final climb. she still managed to catch, pass and drop the field before winning gold.

make sure you catch the biathlon...skiing AND shooting! woohoo! plenty of 180bpm heartrates dropping to the mid-40's for 5 fast shots with anschutz, feinwerkbau and ishevks rifles.

silver for the usa men in the 5k speedskating arena! tell me 32mph on blades...in a turn ain't thrilling!

Yeah, I guess there's something about men and women who are the best in the world at what they do and go head to head that's inspiring. I won't say I sit riveted to the tv for two weeks, but I watched some speed skating and cross country skiing today and enjoyed every minute of it.

The Winter Olympics make watching golf on TV exciting!!  I was yelling at the TV hoping a skater would run into a wall or something.

I liked the opening ceremonies, it was pretty good.  They brought out the Stars & Stripes that was damaaged at WTC. Those performers were real cold, even if it didn't show on the TV screen.
