Well how well do you shoot revolvers (accurucy wise)?

I shoot mine a bit better then semi-autos even as much as I hate to admit it.

I shoot revolvers really well. I've got two single action revolvers, both Rugers, an old Blackhawk and a new model Super Blackhawk that I shoot so well it's kind of freaky. Not same hole freaky, but damn close. And that's off hand. I've never had a semi auto I can shoot as well.

Now double action I'm not as good at. I can keep them all in a 8" circle at 10 yards, but not much better than that. I recently picked up a Taurus 9 shot 22 snubby, more as a training aid than anything else. I figure if I can get good with that in DA mode (and it's got a very stiff DA pull), I'll be a real Deadeye Dick with my S&W and Ruger DA revolvers.

Depends on the revolver. My Grandfather has a GP100 that I am damn good with. But when it comes to my guns I am a better shot with my semi autos.

I think I shoot so good with his because I take my time more. Knowing you only have 6 shots makes you more worried about hitting your target.

That thing was scary accurate. It has me itching for a wheel gun.

I can't shoot double action for sheeit

Single action I can hold my own, and I'm pretty quick.

I guess if I had lived around the last turn of the century, I'd have transitioned from a .45LC SAA to a .45ACP 1911

Very well, or at least used to.

I shot a K-22 and a model 19 (148 hbwc) during my college years, practicing bullseye. I had a key to the range, and used to practice 2 hours a day on M,W, F, and sometimes at a gravel pit on weekends.

I went through, before I started pinching pennies, 12,000 rounds of 22lr one semester alone through that K22.

I mean slow fire bullseye - raise the front sight above the target, lower the pistol slowly across the bull, and hear a bang right at the 6 o clock.

Get that kind of practice in, and you can leave your rifles at home.

I sold all the ones I had and went to bottom feeders only.

Hated cleaning wheelguns too.

However, If I run across an old school three inch J-frame..............

Shoot revolvers very well. Learned to shoot a hand gun from my dad, who was NOT a fan of auto pistols at all, with his old Colt Police Positive .38 Special. Learned double action shooting on that one, then later moved up to a Colt Python. Let my tell any one who has not fired a Python, it is a thing of beauty. If you can't hit with a Python, you just flat suck and need to give up hand gun shooting.

I can shoot a revolver well accuracy-wise; just a hair better than semis. I'm slow as shit though.
I stage the trigger. I never owned a revolver with a nice double action pull or practiced for speed.

I've a 6" Python that at 100 yds, I can keep 6 shots within a 6" circle.

7 1/2" Freedom Arms .454 that on a good day can do as well if not better than the python.

S&W model 19, 50yds, 5" grouping.

On the other hand, I have a Colt trooper, than when I shoot it, I'm scared it'll hit me.

I'm better with a wheelgun, but I probably put 50 rounds(likely more) through them for every round I fire from a bottomfeeder.

I am an OK revolver shooter. I got my first Smith when I was 13. I never shot double action much until I was about 19. Once you get the hang of double action it is great. Here is casual off hand DA at 7 yards. First time I fired that Model 64. I think that is average good.

I shot a hog with my 4 5/8" Super Blackhawk at about 125 yards with a rested shot. That gun is a pocket rifle.

Here is my beloved shooting a 4" Model 10. She had all rounds in the box until they went to 15 yards and she can't shoot.

Never shot a revolver. My dad had one for home defense...shot .32 short...he had 1 round for it, and hadnt cleaned it in the 20 years he had it...I traded him for a lightly used XD9 and sold the revolver for $100, minus the round.

Modern wheel guns are way more accurate than the equivalent pistol.

A good accurate production revolver is 5 shot 1" groups at 75'. For pistols, it is 2".

I shoot a Colt Trooper .357 (first model) every time I go to the range, is very accurate with right loads, have a Ruger Blackhawk .45/.45LC that is also very good, a Ruger Blackhawk .38/.357./9mm that isn't as accurate as the other one but still decent, but best of all is the Western Marshall .44 magnum with a 7" barrel. It was made in Germany by J.P. Sauer and Sohn and is a true copy of the SA Army Colt. It is very accurate. Slow, loud, huge muzzle blast, but dead on.

I'm much better with a revolver, but I'm combat effective with either. For long ranges (over 100 yards) I prefer revolvers.

38/44 Outdoorsman with the smoothest and lightest double action trigger I have ever felt on a firearm.

At 25 yards, slow fire double action, can usually print a group small enough to cover with my hand. Single action, have posted multiple 6 shot groups that could be covered with a tennis ball.

Love that old gun. Used to shoot squirrels out to 25 yards with it on a regular basis. It's more or less retired due to it being an all original gun with original numbered grips and box. Inherited it from my grandfather and if I have children one of these days it will be passed on to them.

I shoot my 1911 best at combat-type ranges, but I like to think I shoot my revolvers well. I know I shoot them better from 100-400 yards.

I used to shoot bowling pins with my 6” GP-100. Not meaning to brag, but I’m a pretty darn good shot with that pistol. One time I jokingly said that, with that pistol in a self defense situation, I would be able to call which chamber of the guy’s heart I put the bullet through. Then I convinced the guy I was serious by shooting a couple of reasonably tight groups.

Of course the heart thing is an exaggeration. In a gunfight I’m going to be too busy shitting myself to carefully aim for where I think some guy’s left ventricle is. And, while I’m a good enough shot with that revolver that I’m not embarrassed, I’m nowhere nearly as good a shot as thousands of serious competitors.

But still, that revolver just seems to put the bullets where I want them to go.

And for some reason I can’t hit crap with my Vaquero in .45 Colt… It’s probably the sights.

I tend to shoot my revolvers better than my autoloaders. Especially my Ruger (Old Model) Single Six and double action Smith and Wessons (which have nice DA triggers out of the box). The only auto that I come close to matching my wheelgun accuracy with is my Colt Series 80 Government Model.

Might be the chamber throats. Ruger commonly makes 'em too small.
