All three are fine rifles, but IMO, Weatherby is overpriced. The Tikka will have the slickest bolt. Both the Remington and the Tikka are fine, accurate rifles. Buy with confidence.
HUH!?!?
The Weatherby Vanguards usually cost a bit less than the Tikka and the Remington 700.
I have 2 of the 3 choices, so here is my take on it.
-The Remington is one of the most common actions out there, which means upgrades are easy, and if you desire to find a gunsmith to work on it, you won't have any trouble at all. The triggers vary, but are usually pretty decent. Mine has an excellent trigger on it. Accuracy will be anywhere from phenomenal to just okay depending on the individual rifle.
- The Tikka will be the lightest weight, but be the one with the least amount of aftermarket support. They are smooth, they are accurate, and they have plastic magazines that cost a bunch of money and are hard to find. Add in your customer support will be through Beretta USA, which doesn't have the best reputation. And seriously, $68 for a cheap piece of shit plastic magazine!?!!?
- The Vanguard will probably be the least expensive of the three. Accuracy will usually be better than the 700, but may not quite equal the Tikka. The rifle will probably be the heaviest of the three, and there really isn't anything you can do about it, it's just a bit heavy. The trigger will be pretty good, and can be adjusted to be even better. The action is probably the best of the three, with the built in recoil lug.
