I woke up early this morning because she was acting funny, stumbling around, losing control of her bladder....She couldn't stand up by herself and walked sideways when she did finally make it to her feet, her hind quarters kept collapsing on her when she was walking.
The vet said she had a stroke, she had another one when i took her to see him. She was a black Boxer dog rescued by my ex SIL and brother from her abusive first owners, then was subjected to nothing but being ignored and locked in the basement by my Brother and his Ex. When they divorced i took her in and she was the most intelligent and well behaved dog i ever encountered for me. She had to have a morning hug and had to share peanut butter toast for breakfast, never ever dirtied in the house until the strokes hell she'd hold it for 14 hours sometimes until i got home so she wouldn't dirty in the house. This just sucks but at least she was happy her last 7 years of life. |

R.I.P.
You will heal with time. When things settle, consider rescuing another friend. |

Sorry to hear that. I have a Lab Boxer mix "Jaeger" that is getting into his last years and it is killing me. Prolly gonna be one of the worst days of my life. Again, sorry to hear of your loss.

Sorry to hear that. Never an easy thing to do. Sadly I had to put down my irie beagle a few years back. I know how you feel . Sad deal all the way around. |

Sorry to hear. At least your were able to give her some good years, and I'm sure that she appreciated that more then you'll ever know.

I don't even want to think of the day. I'm sorry for your loss, Fireguy. |

Sorry for your loss. She'll be waiting for you at the Rainbow Bridge. God Bless.

That's a heartbreaker, man. Sorry to hear it.
One of life's biggest inequities is the short lifespan of dogs compared to man. |
|
I'm sorry to hear it, it can't be easy
you did a good thing giving her a good life |
|
R.I.P. I know it's hard.
Hell, when the day comes I have to put my little yappy dog down I'll probably be a mess. Hang in there. |
|
Rescued dogs almost always seem to be very appreciative.
You're right, it sucks to lose a companion like that. But, I'm really glad she found a good home with you. |
|
I know how you feel, just put down my old dog in June, some times I think where is she then I remember.

I am truly sorry to hear that, I lost my best friend a year ago. I know how you feel. Again, I am sorry for your loss.

My choclate lab has a tumor that came back, I don't think she has more than a week left. |

This just sucks but at least she was happy her last 7 years of life. Very sorry to hear of your loss, but again, to not sound soo cliche, she's in a better place now. Sounds like she had a rough start in life but because of you, her final years were special, and for that I thank you, it's hard to find people to do the right thing, and it sounds as though you did. As far as putting her down, that was the right thing to do, hard as hell as most of us know, but it was the right thing, and the one thing we owe them, to pass with their dignity. If you get a chance, please post a pic. My thoughts and prayers will be with her, you and the family during this difficult time. May she rest in peace. |
