She is 42 and is in otherwise good health. Anyone know of any causes and/or treatments for this? The doctors have pretty much given up and said live with it. Thanks in advance for input. She's not taking any meds that can be causing this? I've had that happen. Couldn't figure out why I got dizzy, or couldn't see worth a shit at night, came out it was some side effects of some medication I was on. |

does she drink a lot of caffeine? soda, coffee, etc. i had an issue with too much caffeine causing tinnitus and dizziness.

The dizziness started before taking these, and she started the thyroid meds in the hope that the thyroid issues were causing her dizziness. Has she had MRI MRA of brain. How about Carrotid Ultrasound to check for blockage? Hope she is better soon. Google meniere's disease.

My friend went through the very same thing this past summer. MRI's and CAT scans proved ok. At first, they thought it was a condition called Chiari Malformation but an expert in that field ruled it out. He was referred to an ear, nose, and throat specialist who determined he had a calcium deposit inside his inner ear.
This condition (calcium deposit) happens more than you would think. I know of another person who is suffering from the same thing. There are medications, and believe it or not, exercises that help. Talk to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. |

How long does a spell last? Minutes? Hours? Days? Does she have a headache with it? Hearing loss? Buzzing in ears? Does head motion make her dizzy? |

On Labor Day, I went to the ER because I thought I was having a stroke. Left side of my face was tingling and I had this HUGE wave of dizziness. The week previous I was also getting smaller waves of dizziness.....almost a feeling of not being grounded in reality.
Diagnosis.......STRESS and vertigo. |

Do you have any gas appliances? If there is a slow CO leak in your house, your wife may be affected before you are. Happened to my cousin and his wife.

I've been fighting vertigo since around 1994. Mine is somehow related to chronic sinus infections. I've had deviated septum surgery, tons of tests, etc. It appears there is no magic pill to solve my problem. I've had limited success with diet modifications and such. I used to get up to three serious sinus infections per year. Now, I 'm down to around one or so. Research candida overload to see some of the stuff I have tried.

Massive vertigo sometimes, and he has fallen off of a few ladders on the last house we built. Doctor said basically the same thing... live with it. They prescribed him some anti-nausea meds, because he spins so hard. |

Light headed and not a spinning sensation is generally not an inner ear problem.

Meds are of little benefit. |
