Yep, and I'm missing class all the while. There's only about six people in here with bracelets and they put me on the fast track so hopefully I'll be out of here before midnight. I'll just be pissed if I can't shoot at school this weekend.

Be sure and tell them your name is Juan, You speak no english, and have no insurance.  make them prove otherwise.  tell them you are homeless.

I have always wanted to try this.  I see "other cultures" doing it all the time at our local hospital.  They walk in, get treated, and walk out.  No bills, nothing.

And if they try to say that you are white and theres no way you are of latin descent...scream racism out loud.

You won't get the swine flu, but you will likely get a case of diarrhea from someone.

Whatever you do, do not go off on the person behind the desk, They do not delegate who goes to the back. I've had more than a couple of calls from my gal who works that desk. Most calls are because she had to call security because the idiot people that are not in any kind of emergency want to belligerent. just my .02.

I got excused from PT at school until next Thursday, unfortunately this also includes the gun range tomorrow (which you can only miss 10 hours of per FDLE standards) because the doc didn't write it on the note to specifically allow me to shoot (he said shooting was not a physical activity, I could do that but running, jumping over walls, climbing through windows etc. was probably not a good idea). I have to make everything I missed up anyways so it's not like I really get out of any of it. I already qualified on the range, every single time I step up to the line, so that's not a problem.

He just diagnosed me with lower back pain and said I probably pulled/strained something, gave me a script for Naproxen, Skelaxin, and a kick in the ass to send me out the door. As much as it will suck paying this off because I have no insurance and school insurance probably won't cover it even though the whole reason for the visit was something that happened at school, I would rather have to pay it off monthly than have "free" healthcare. lol

Once had a pt in the ED who was, pale skin, green eyes, red hair with freckles. Spoke only spanish and was brought in by a mexican framing crew after a fall. Not one work of english. Looked like he was pure irish.

Last time I was in the ER I didn't have to wait at all.  It was pretty obvious that I was in a considerable amount of pain and was going to be interrupting everyone's TV time in the waiting room.  Between my unintelligible rants and my wife's constant laughter at my misery it was not a pretty sight.  I even got a friendly escort by hospital security who offered to secure my CCW, I wasn't packing at the time but it was nice of them to offer.  It was a laugh a minute let me tell you.  If you wait until you are really an emergency case they'll get to you much quicker.

Oh, and the bill was over $4,000 for about three hours.  Urgent care or an office visit is much cheaper.

No kids... thankfully. I still live at home as I'm 19/a student.

My mom works at the local primary school though and she said all her students are sick all the time now. Makes me glad I'm only here a couple hours a day when she is, cuts down the time I could catch something from her.

My 9 year old daughter got the SF for her b-day on 09/14 and is still coughing.  She tested positive.  The pediatrician gave us all scripts for Tamiflu and that crap is $130 for 10 pills.  My husband and myself feel like we are getting it.  I am praying that the anti-virals will prevent my son from getting it because he has asthma and everything he gets turns to pneumonia.
