Nice little rifle you got there.  What's the scope for?

Ummmmmmm... looking thru  It was on there when I got it, the box says it is designed to be used with Hornady LeverEvolution 30-30 ammo

How do you guys find these deals?

Nice gun, horrible scope mount.  The only thing a scope mounted that high is good for is close range shots in low light.  You'll never get any real kind of accuracy without a good cheek weld.  Either take it off and leave it off, or get a set of mounts that puts it low enough to be used properly.  And since it's probably a cheap POS, I vote to take it off and leave it off.

Lower mounts was my plan, those are so you can see the irons also. As far as a POS scope, it's no $1000.00 Leupold, but the receipt in the box says $179.99, not great, bot not a $29.00 Tasco either.

I almost bought one today.  I'm still holding out for a better deal.  Good score though.

On a side note, I got this in MO. Foristell to be exact. I was BSing with a local driver about guns and he wanted to sell this to finance a "More useful gun".
