Today is a very historic day. September 17, 1862 was the bloodiest day in American history (Battle of Sharpsburg, over 23,000 total Union & Confederate casualties).

Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben was born today in 1730. This is the guy who drilled General Washington's troops.
