What does hand grenade smoke smell like after it explodes?
Having never thrown one, I'm curious. |
|
DEATH...SWEET SWEET DEATH...to those on the receiving end anyways.
do you mean before or after explosion? before it kind of smells like metal and packing grease, I dunno, never really sat and smelled one for extended periods. After explosion, maybe cordite and dust and burnt explosive, you dont really run right where you just threw it typically so it kind of blows away after a few seconds...never really thought about it ETA: anyone who sat around and just sniffed their grenades... might've been questioning their mental status....lol, I can see the gomer from our platoon doing it though, locked in the porta shitter just sniffing away |

I just know the sound it makes when it kills a man. /tropicthunder/

If I had a fuggin gernade, I'd sit around and sniff it. I'd talk to it and call it my precious.

anyone else notice all the shrapnel in the plexy glass at the ft jackson range?
was trying to figure that out while standing in line one go off in the bunker, or maybe someone dropped one before throwing? |
|
Probably like Composition B or RDX/TNT depending on where you are and what type of grenade.

If you were down wind and the smoke blew back on you, for instance. |

It sprays wire fragments all over the place.... And it's done... (Grenades don't really have that much of an explosive blast - the damage is done by the fragments of the casing and the wire-wrap underneath said casing) |

I've never been to Jackson and don't really ever care to from what I've heard. I never noticed any in the Plexiglas at Benning or Campbell. Sully |

WTF is a gernade? SURE WOULD BE NICE IF WE HAD SOME GERNADES RIGHT NOW. "Gernade" is the official spelling of grenades here. Deal with it. |
